Feather extensions have hit the beauty world in a fierce way, and definitely one of the biggest trends that is occuring right now. They are a great way to add a little extra sparkle to your look and a fun short-term change especially with summer just around the corner. It's safer than coloring your hair, and in some cases you can change the feathers to match your outfit, but moderation is key!!
Feather extensions can last from 2 weeks to several months. They can be placed in your hair by a crimping bead, which is a common way to place any extension into your hair. Depending on the designer, one extension can have up to four feathers (usually rooster feathers) on it, so if you want 5 extensions that can be a lot of plumage. Basically you treat the feather extension like your regular hair: you can curl it, blow dry it, flat iron, brush it, etc. If you would like your feather extension to stay a little longer, try not to wash your hair every day and brush lightly around the feather extension. Just like your hair, be aware of the amount of heat your are putting on it for a longer lasting healthy feather.
And just a reminder...yes everyone has feather extensions because they are super cute and really popular, but keep it under control. Too many times I have seen girls with 10+ feather extensions in their hair, and honestly you look like you're turning into a bird.
